As seen in the above graphs and maps, there are many foreign players who come from all over the world. 

The most talented basketball players regardless of origin are drafted every year by teams.

Some foreign players have played as well as NBA players from the United States, such as players from South Africa, Spain and Italy while many others, like Uruguay, Slovakia and Australia have yet to be as successful.

We might attribute this difference to the different popularity of basketball around the world, or to the difficulty in playing in the NBA, whether it to be for distance for a player from his home environment and family or a general difficulty in settling in a foreign country with a different language or maybe the high level of competition is overwhelming for the player, that was used to playing in local leagues .​

Clearly, they aren't too far behind and as the years progress and the NBA continues to globalize, we believe the average amount of points scored and amount of years played for a foreign player will only grow.
